翻拍自70年代的經典恐怖片,將恐怖大師Stephen King的經典同名小說再度搬上大螢幕,Carrie這部讓Stephen King聲名大噪的作品,涉及了校園暴力(霸凌)及基督教極端教派造成的問題,在1973年讓當年還只能靠投稿作品賺取生活費的Stephen King,改變了命運。

 

 

Stephen King不只是會寫令人毛骨悚然的故事,他其實也真的蠻幽默、有智慧的。讓我們來聽聽他怎麼說吧!

A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White, a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother, who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom. It is based on the best-selling novel of Stephen King.

  • shelter [ˈʃɛltɚ] (v.) 遮蔽、遮擋。

        Example: They huddled in the shop doorway to shelter from the rain.

 

  • religious [rɪˈlɪdʒəs] (adj.) 虔誠的、宗教信仰堅定的。

        Example: She was in a trancelike state of religious ecstasy.

 

  • unleash [ʌnˈliʃ] 釋放、放縱…而出。

        Example: Teachers awaken young minds,and teachers encourage ingenuity and unleash fertile imaginations

 

  • telekinetic [,telɪkɪ'netɪk] (adj.) 念動力的。

        Example: In 1973, he released Carrie, a novel about a girl with telekinetic powers.

 

  • prom [prɑm] (n.) (學校在學年末舉行的) 正式舞會。

        Example: I didn't want to go to the prom with Craig.

 

  • base on [bes ɑn] (p.v.) 以…為基礎、建立在…、根據、依據。

        Example: Action should be based on solid facts.

 

 

Sue Snell: Carrie had some sort of power. But she was just like me... like any of you, she had hopes, she had fears, but we pushed her. And you can only push someone so far before they break.

Sue Snell: Carrie有某種能力。但是她就是我一樣…,就像你們每個人一樣,她有著希望,她有恐懼,但是我們迫害了她。在他們掙脫之前,你也只能逼迫一個人到某個地步。
