小編又有一陣子沒寫romantic comedy的題材了，本週就來一片小編覺得十分爆笑的現代女性追愛篇，最近小編身邊也是有很多非常有能力的女孩們，美貌與智慧兼具，由於太忙碌於事業，也無力分心在愛情生活裡，我想，國內敗犬女郎的數量真是有可能會越來越高呢！

My Big Fat Greek Wedding絕對是經典敗犬女郎追愛的故事，打破多項影史紀錄。對保守的希臘家庭來說，寶貝女兒要嫁給一個”阿多仔”，搞定整個家族老少可不容易，這衝擊很大的婚禮，會帶來什麼令人噴飯的笑果呢？

This film is a sweet look at the American immigrant family, and specifically, the tension that has existed between many immigrant parents who want their children to marry a person from their own ethnic background, and those children who find partners from elsewhere in the great American “melting pot.”

這是一片描述可愛美國移民家庭的故事，更具體地說，是在闡述那種緊繃的心情，普遍出現在許多希望小孩嫁娶跟自己一樣種族背景的移民家長身上。而這些下一代的小孩們卻勇於追求真正的幸福，與不同種族背景的另一半結合，充分顯現出偉大美國背後的意義：「大熔爐」。

“bravo” 原是意大利文，被拿來當作英文口語來使用，原來是用來表達在欣賞完令人讚嘆的表演後的讚賞，有勇敢的、優秀的、好的意思，其他情況下，人們也會用Bravo來表達好極了、棒透了，來讚賞別人優秀的成果。

Example: Bravo! You will not allow age to hold you back.

If nagging was an Olympic sport, my aunt Voula would have a gold medal.

假如嘮叨是奧運的比賽項目，我阿姨（姑姑）Voula一定會得金牌。

“To nag”是一個很可愛的動詞，假如有人”nag” 你，他會一直叫你做一些你不想要做的事情或是你還沒有做的事情，精準一點說就是嘮叨。

Example: My girlfriend nagged me to cut my hair.

You set me up with her already.

你早就已經設計我跟她了。

“To set up” 兩個人就是想要把他們兩個送作堆，看對彼此會不會有興趣，可以發展浪漫的愛情。

Example: My mom keeps setting me up with her friends’ sons.

We must let Kostko think this was his idea, that he came up with it.

我們必須要讓Kostko覺得這是他的主意，他想出來的主意！

假如你“To come up with” an idea，就是在說你自己想出或創造出這個想法或意見。an idea is to think of it or create it yourself.

Example: I hope you can come up with a better plan than this.
