我們大多用 on 來帶出日子或日期。

e.g.  I'll see you on Monday.

e.g.  We gave our mother some flowers on Mother's Day.

At

我們會用 at 來帶出特定的時間 ( 大多指幾點幾分 )。

e,g,  Let's meet at five o'clock this afternoon.

e.g.  The movie starts at midnight.

e.g.  Will it snow at Christmas ?  ( 一年當中的一個特殊時間 )

In

請使用 in 來帶出一段時間當中所發生事 ( 一天、一月、一季 或 一年內的不特定時間 )。

e.g.  She needs to drink two cups of black coffee in the morning.

e.g.  They always go to the beach in July.

e.g.  He was born in 1945.

e.g.  Do you eat less in summer?

For

請用 for 來表明某個行為持續了多久。

時常搭配「完成式」。

e.g.  She has lived in Taipei for two years.

e.g.  I have been waiting for twenty minutes.

Since

我們大多用 since 來說明行為從何時開始。

時常搭配「完成式」。

e.g.  They have been married since 2008.

e.g.  He's had a toothache since last night.

By

想要行為在某個時間點之前完成的話就要用 by。

e.g.  You must hand in your report by Friday.  ( 最晚星期五要交 )

e.g.  We have to be there by 12:00.  ( 最晚12:00要到 )

Until

用 until 來表示行為到某個時間之前都會持續進行 。

e.g.  I won't see you until Monday, right ?  ( 不見面的狀況會持續到週一 )

e.g.  She stayed awake until four in the morning. ( 清醒的狀態維持到凌晨四點 )
